Default point and shoot cameras

I've had a few Cannons before in the past. Any recommendations?

I’d like to have something that does HD1080 video and a high res pics. Needs to be wifey friendly to operate, and long battery life

I've had good luck with our Nikon Coolpix s8200. It's the one from those annoying Ashton Kutcher commercials, but it's a great camera & shoots really good video. It's also really good at shooting quality photos in very low light with no flash. Only problem I've had is the auto-focus function while shooting video. It just gets confused & can't figure out what to focus on...
