Default Will I be good?

So someone please set my mind at ease about my 4l60e...

The truck is an 01, 5.3l. 65,000 miles. B&M shift kit and vette servo, and has the factory trans cooler. I want to spray a 75 shot wet through a NOS nozzle about 4 inches from the TB. As long as I don't spray through the shifts, how long will the trans last roughly? I only want it for track days maybe twice a month. I've been spraying on VW's for a while now, and safely managed a single fogger 100 shot on a 70 horse engine with 180,000 miles and mechanical fuel injection, but have never sprayed on something with such a fragile transmission in a heavy vehicle. Thanks a bunch!

Not babied, but not beat. I have towed a 3000lb trailer 3 times, but only about 80 miles total. Have made about 12 1/4 mile runs with it so far. Don't know about the previous owner. Doesn't slip or anything right now. Changed the fluid when I bought it, no burnt smell or color change. Same right now about 6 months later.

spraying through the shifts is better than unloading the trans then reloading the trans

And when it bounces off the rev limiter going through a shift and I lose the top half of the intake manifold?

your transmission should last pretty well, your 75 shot "reloading" the trans wont be a brutal force slamming you back in your seat so its nothing too bad on it IMO. if you only use it twice a month or so and you are fairly nice to it it shoudl hold up. i have 83,4xx miles on my stock trans. my current set up has been on there for about a year now, the converter only about a month. it towed a 6k+ trailor 500 miles 4 times a year and its still going strong, no slipping i dont believe. i think she'll start to die on me once i get all the rest of my incoming parts installed but you should hold up for a little while at least.

The thing with these transmissions is, you never really know. I have between 75k and 80k miles on mine, and it is stock. I've ran hard over the years, but not abused it. I have a trans gauge and if it's showing heat in the trans, I take it easy. I also still have ALL of the factory T/M in the tune. I think that custom tunes where T/M has been removed is the culprit for many transmission deaths. That, and young drivers manually downshifting and such. I've ran my truck at the track prob. around 75 passes, and ran about 5 bottles of nitrous thru a 100 dry shot, and my trans is fine. I wouldn't be surprised if it took a **** on the way home today, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it lasted another 50k miles. It's really hard to say whether "you will be fine" or not. Do you still have your Torque Management in your tune?

I heard the total opposite, on automatics you should have a window switch, my friend has a 10 sec LT1 on a 150 shot with a fully built 4L60 and the builders said not to spray during the shifts.

as long as the window switch is setup right then it will be good for a while... I'd start putting back a little now and then for a built tranny though.. ask around.. its only a matter of time. esp on N20...
