Default What type of Nitrous kit with Radix

Instead of adding boost, I was thinking about spraying a 50-75 shot of nitrous. Im only running 5.5psi of boost now and think that may be a better option that getting a pulley and fighting high IAT's.

Im open to suggestions, advice, type of kit, any info will be greatly appreciated. Links, sponsors...

i researched this a month or so ago and i found that a meth kit is the best option BUT if you want to go nitrous a direct port is the best to use for radix because A. nitrous will corrode the rotors inside the radix after a while i.e. wet shot. B. a dry shot is harder to tune for and C. direct port nitrous injection just sounds cool

I may do the same at some point, and I definitely will NOT spray nitrous through the rotors. Direct port all the way IMO.

Well... I think I would go with a single nozzle set up before the throttle body to benefit from the cooling effect. A 50 shot is probably worth 60-70hp at the wheels.

If I could get 2 years out of the rotors, I will be happy considering it is $500.00 to replace them. Meth is corrosive as well, so both can be harmful to the rotors.

Im sick of putting money in the truck and just getting little improvements. The 6.0 only netted me only 2 tenths in the 1/4. If I want to run a few more pounds of boost, Im going to need new injectors and to tune for them. Then Im going to be fighting high IAT's, so meth injection might be needed. I was told the smallest direct port shot you can run is 100 shot. That is a pretty big shot on top of 8-9psi of boost.

The nitrous set up would be for track use only. I want to run 12's on 22's without having to strip the sh*t out of my truck, taking speaker boxes out, tailgate, tonneau cover, etc. A 50 shot and a 10lb bottle will last a very long time and probably put me in the 12.70-12.8's.

I can easily spend another $2000.00 in upgrades with the mp112. 90mm tb, flange, meth kit, injectors, pulley, and a tune. That will probably net me .5 in the 1/4 max. Nitrous is wasy and almost guarenteed horsepower. I dont plan to run nitrous on the street everyday either.

I guess i have a lot of thinking to do.

I run about a 70 shot, dry, before the throttle body...only once in a while...it comes on w/ the meth and w/ the snow 625ml nozzle it is like a wet shot.
so far, i like it...does a good job of keeping IAT's down.
direct port is tricky w/ the radix..maybe w/ thos injector nozzles, but you probably have to use shorty injectors...and i've been looking and haven't found anyone that has done it to verify that it will still fit under the j-tube.

I'm reconsidering my stance on spraying through the rotors....so a dry shot with meth is almost the same as a wet shot?

You cant spray a 70 shot with DP. The smallest pill to my knowledge will allow a 100 shot then combine that with the intercooling effect its a recipe for disaster on stock pistons. Meth acts like fuel so adding fuel with nitrous=wet shot
