Nitrous in an lq9
 

What's the most nitrous anyone's poured into a stock lq9 bottom end?

I've heard of people smacking them with 150 shots all the time, though I'm sure people have done more than that too.

I would only use a wet shot unless you're certain on fueling.

I'm set up with a stand alone wet system. Haven't had it tuned yet just wondering my limits

I sprayed a 150 with a nitrous outlet plate kit on my SS back in 08 I think. No issues. It worked as if it came that way from the factory. I was tuned for the nitrous and had TR6 spark plugs.

Ive heard of 300 shots on stock bottoms. Use a standalone with race fuel and ramp it in over time and use 2 stages. If you smack a stock bottom with 300 out of the hole it will shit all over itself.

We used to have guys run wet kits with 200 jets here all the time. There was a mod here who jetted up to 250 at the track and for grudge racing quite regularly. His trans was the weak point, his tune was spot on. The bottom end isn't an issue, get a FP, decent injectors, cold plugs with a solid tune and you'll be fine. Many go with ARP head and rod bolts for extra security.

Like TX said there's some who put 300 and several F-body guys with 6.0s that have run 300, but I haven't seen any of them last long before motor work.

I have a zex perimeter plate system. A stand alone fuel setup with vp no2. An msd window switch. I have the ARP studs and 42lb injectors. The zex systems come on WOT I just started looking at progressive controllers I'm not sure you can even add them to the zex system. Is that a waste of time and money?

Yes you can still use a progressive controller, that will help save your trans. If you're good with a 200 shot then you have the basics covered and will be fine. Just make sure you're at least 2 steps colder on plug and you have a competent tuner. What converter are you running? You'll need a good one with anti-ballooning and it will flash much higher on spray so keep that in mind when/if you change it out.
