Why not just leave torque management in the tune instead of using a window switch? Surely it wouldn't be as hard of a "shock" to the trans as yanking 100+ hp before the shifts and pouring it back to it right after. A stock transmission is exactly that........stock. Doesn't make any difference if it is spraying through the gears or not. There are a ton of guys out there that have burnt a trans up with just bolt ons and there are a ton of guys out there that have been spraying a stock trans for countless bottles. I just feel its the luck of the draw with the 4l60e. I've been through 7 in the truck and the car still has the stock 70,000 mile one in it(with countless 100-150 shot bottles through it).

What's torque management going to do when you accidentally spray 150 wet shot @ 2000 rpm? Their purpose is to prevent spraying too low, or hitting the rev limiter while spraying because the trans slipped, the drive shaft snapped off, loss of traction, a manual car missing a gear, etc. It falls under the same category as FPSS, A/F switch, n20 filter... Cheap Insurance. It's not totally necessary, but I like having one

Absolutely. I'd spray thru the shifts no matter what, because turning it off 200 before shifting and immediately after won't help much. The reason N20 is hard on parts is because it hits hard, I'd rather have it hit hard once in 1st gear @ 3000, than hit hard every time I shift into the next gear.

I have the MSD window switch. When i go back to the track im gonna spray from the tree to the trap. I was just spraying a wet 75 shot through a nozzle and it fuggin hits hard for 75 shot. the switch was set to off 200rpms before shift and when it came back in it hit that much harder again. If that aint harder on the the drivetrain then it hitting once then i dunno what is.?....any correct me if i am wrong, its just my opinion...

I know I said in your window switch thread that I'd turn it off between shifts, but after spraying a lot this past Friday I think just spraying thru the gears would be easier on the tranny.

The way i look at it, i have sprayed through the shifts both with and without torque Managment. though it is true that the nitrous hits hard and it will only happen once if you spray though the shifts, the abuse with the window switch is on the hard parts in the tranny and not on the clutches (if you can keep them from slipping due to the power). i sprayed through the shifts on mine for about 10k and when it was rebuilt the clutches showed significant wear and burning. it is a fact that if the hard parts dont exceed their yield strength when nitrous hits, then they can withstand the same shock an infinite number of times while the clutches will burn very badly if you spray through the shift (on a mostly stock tranny).
