Default Need help with stock fuel system for nitrous

I'm putting a wet kit on my 5.3L. It has a stock fuel system. I want to run a 150 shot for now and step up to a 200 shot once I upgrade pump/injectors. So my question is, will my stock fuel system hold up to a 150 wet shot? I do have a fuel pump hot wire kit if that helps. I plan to pull fuel off the rail.

FWIW it has a cold air intake, stock 5.3 intake manifold, long tube headers, o/r y pipe, cutout, magnaflow muffler, 228R cam, 3200 stall, 3.73 gears, built 4L60E.

I think you should get a walbro 255 in the tank before you put any nitrous on it. With the cam you probably have enough fuel for a 100 and maybe a 150 shot but I personally wouldn't risk it. Get a pump then you will be fine pulling a 200 off the rail.

Ok I think I will get a 255 just to play it safe. Stock injectors are fine though right?

Yes. Wet system doesn't need injectors because it adds it's own fuel.

Oh yeah duh, I knew that. Dont even know why I asked.

So I've been searching for an in tank pump. Does it have to be one specifically for a Silverado? Cant seem to come across the one I need, at least I'm not sure if it is.

Make sure you get the 255 with the check valve, the 255 is good to 500hp range at the wheels

Ok, so "500hp range" that includes into the low 500's right? I'm hopping to be around 520rwhp on a 200 shot. If not then damn close.

With the cam in there you ill defiantly want to upgrade the pump to be safe I have seen guys do it with the factory pump but in my eyes its not worth risking.

You may also give Racetronix a call and they should be able to help you out on getting the right fuel pump along with everything to make putting it in easy.
