I decided to torture my 4.8 before I do the 6.0 swap. I am running a 71 NOS jet on a dry system (about 225hp at the crank). Everything is stock except the muffler and put some 3.73's in the truck. I am filling my own bottle at the house. I have sprayed 6 full bottles through the 71 jet and my stock plugs still look good. I have sprayed a total of 23 - 10lb bottles through this 4.8l ranging from a 48 jet to a 71 and it just turned over 4000 miles. Probably more like 200 lbs of nitrous through it if you factor in the partial fills. I am just starting my 4th big bottle which calculates close to 80 lbs per bottle. I am running a stock tune and all. This engine just won't give, all of the torque management and timing retard is saving it. When GM put the 100,000 mile warranty on them they must have factored in N20 use also. I have to factor nitrous into my fuel economy i am getting 160 miles per 10lbs of nitrous and 320 miles per 24 gals. of gasoline, I should buy a GTO. But the truck is much more fun today.

now that I think of it, I wish I could see what the inj duty % is while spraying. Running that big of a dry shot should almost make you go lean. Are the 2007 4.8's any different than the older ones perhaps?
just curious

Also, depending what kit you got...you may be only doing a 150hp at the flywheel.

True, Sometimes the solenoids can only flow so much, you could run no jet and get the same results

I tuned this guys Z71 few weeks ago..

He comes by my house wanting to know what he can do next...
I just happend to have the K&N filter i got from Beau last year..
Cleaned it and rigged it up on there and removed 50% TM from his tune..

he comes by later that night.... he bought a dry nitrous kit from somebody and had installed it..

No jet in it but.... the nozzle was turned away from the MAF thankfully!!!

i fixed the nozzle and put in the 75hp jet.... he took it out later that night and put in a 150shot jet... im waitin on the phone call needing a tow home cause the 5.3
