Default Can NO2 be Consistant?

The title says it all. I'm big into going to the drags and even joined the points this year, so consistantly is really big for me!

So to those with NO2 on their trucks, how consistant are your setups?

OR

What do I need to look for in a kit to make it consistant.

One guy at the track says he only uses his to make sure hes the No.1 quallifier for the night (440 Cuda running 9.8's withOUT the spray!)

Thanx guys!

The first few shots off a bottle will be very consistant as long as the pressure remains the same, but if you lose pressure or volume you will begin to slow down. The first four passes I ever ran on nitrous were within .002 of each other, but then again I had a 20# tank with only 75hp jets, it took about 10-12 hotlaps before it started to drop.

Humm, thanx Sin!

They do have a refill place at the track, but is it like CO2, do you have to emply the bottle first cuase they just leave out whatevers in the bottle to refill it?

I gotta find out what I wanna do with this 360 block. 408 or built 360..

It all depends on your bottle size and the size of your shot. If you have a large bottle with a small shot, you will not see much pressure drop after a pass. On the other hand, if you have a larger shot with a small bottle, you will see as much as 100psi pressure drop after a pass. I have a 10# bottle and running a 100 shot and depending on how much nitrous I have in the bottle, I will drop from 1000 down to 950, 900 or even 800. When I get the big pressure drops and the heater wont bring ti back up quickly, I know I am approaching the end of a bottle.

btw... it is N2O for future reference.

I ran a 100 shot on my truck before it blew and i didn't have a bottle heater. I noticed the times going down, you defenitly need a bottle heater to keep them constant and a good slick or drag radial to hook up with the nitrous. Plus a good ignition system is needed to burn the mixture.

Yes it can be very consistent even more so than FI if you do it right. Watching pressure is the main thing. The last few hits off the bottle are not going to be consistent as the first few.

I used a progressive controller maintated a consistant bottle pressure and launch rpm with 0.05-1.1 ET variations within 1 mph trap speeds.

Yes n20 is very consistent. To make it consistent make sure you have a bottle warmer and a purge setup.

Noice! Thanx guys!

What kinda gains do you think I could see in the 1/4 with a 75 shot. I don't think I want to go with the full 100shot, no reason really.

Ohh and what all have you guys done to prevent blowing the motor. Would it be wise on a older motor to rebuild the top end?

Thanx again!!

If your gonna rebuild the motor, you need to freshen up the bottom end.
