Default Anyone filling their Nitrous Bottles at home?

Where are you getting your "Mother" bottle from? And what filling station do you use?

Thanks.

I do. I was buddies with my Gas guy in WY and traded an extra empty oxy bottle for a bottle of Nitrace. I use the freeze and fill method. Got 2 bottle nuts to -4 fittings and a 4' hose. I just put the small bottle in the freezer till its nice and frosty and then pull it out and connect the 2 bottle together with the hose. Put the small bottle on a digital scale and open the valve on it all the way. Then open the valve on the big bottle till I get 10lbs in the small bottle. Works pretty good till the big bottle starts getting low, then you have to do the freeze part a couple times to get the little bottle most of the way full, but a LOT cheaper then a $600 pump! You can also wrap and electric blanket and some insulation around the big bottle to warm it up. Helps to bring up the pressure when its getting low. Po man's NAWS filling!!

Just make sure you get a mother bottle with a dip tube so you don't have to turn it upside down to get liquid N2O out of it.

I just made a stand for the mother bottle. I took a bottle cap and cut the threaded part off and welded a tripod stand on it so I could set the bottle upside down and still reach the valve. Works a treat.

My neighbor has a mother bottle and fills all of his own. I fill nitrous at work with the freeze and fill method always works well. I was looking into setting up my own bottle, just need the room.

I knew I should of not asked, this is not going to be good. I have some old bottles of something, that were my grandfathers, in the barn. How much do you guys pay to have the mother bottle filled?

Thanks.

I got a package deal cuz he was my buddy and the manager and I think he back doored them, lol. I swapped 4 bottles of various gasses for $200, Be aware of those older bottles though. Chances are the hydro test is out of date and they will charge you to test them to see if they will still pass before they will swap you bottles.
