So you dont have to go to a specific shop, just a parts store can do it? There arent any "performance" shops where I live, so could a regular mechanic install the kit easily enough? About how much would it cost me?

Honestly, you can install it yourself with some common hand tools, depending on your mechanical aptitude and which kit you buy. Don't be suprised if a shop charges you 6-8 hours of labor to install.
