5.3 + nitrous = 10s or 11s?

If you get the tune, and setup right it should be possible. I think the tight converter could end up hurting the motor. Need to launch with like 150 hp then bring the other 150 in after 4500 rpm. Id also want a cam with a 10-12 deg split with that much n20.

28x10 hoosiers and caltracs. 3.73s and a spool.
I did a 250 shot on my buddys 350k mile 4.8 and it ran awesome with 3.42s and a radial.
Its goin to be a learning experience thats for sure.

Still gotta figure out a stall and im trying to get him to go to a two stage.
he sent me the cam card so im fixin to post it up, he has a guy that wants to buy it so ill text ya about a cam once he figures out if he wants to do nitrous or not .. dang kids these days...

The weight is going to kill it. If you can pull a bunch of weight out of it, get it around 4000# ready to go down the track, with about a 4500 converter, some really deep gears and spin it 7k+ rpm's, it COULD run 10s. That's assuming the motor makes 300-325 n/a now. And really no room to miss the tuneup

I've never done it. Alot of people that run methanol for their main fuel source actually use gas for their nitrous enrichment because the methanol doesn't "explode", has a real slow burn rate. Doing what you're wanting to do with that poor stock motor, I'd use a fuel that people are familiar with to help you get the tuneup close

Id start with a 80e and a yank pro 3400, good plugs and fuel and a vary good nitrous tuner you might get a 10. Exhaust flow will kill it, it will eaither need a cam with ex dur in the 240s-250s or a better flowing head.

Can be done I went 11.1 on a 150 shot very first time on n2o.......then went again thus past Jan hit 150 of the hole and an other 100 shortly after went 10.5.....could of gone a little faster but truck lost power before the finish....next time out should have full suspension done and hit 250 of the hole if we don't get the 9 then we will do an other 100 on top of that.......if I am nit mistaken I think I have gone the fastest on a 5.3 with n2o setup shooting to be the fastest 5.3 period that would be 10.03 I think and be the first one to the 9s .
