300 shot on forged stroker
I just bought a second stage of nitrous and a proggressive controller so that I can do a big shot. My highest so far was a 200 shot through a nozzle which was about equal to a 150 shot through the nitrous plate (similar times). I have a walboro 255, Fuel pressure safety, and window swith. Is there anything else besides tuning that would have to change? Should I use a window switch to protect the FLT level 4 80e? I was originally going to do a 250 but if I can do this without blowing anything up then I am willing to try it. What is the biggest shot someone has done?

You will definately need to change the plugs out to the appropriate heat range.
Nitrous (two steps colder) <--- 200-250hp
Heat Range: 7
Gap: Consult
Plug: NGK BR7EF (stock number 3346); NGK TR7IX (stock number 3690); Autolite AR94; Denso IT22 (stock number 5327)
Nitrous (two and a half steps colder) <--- 300-350hp
Heat Range: 8
Gap: Consult
Plug: NGK R5724-8 (stock number 7317); NGK TR8IX (part number 3691); Denso IT-24 (stock number 5328)
I would use the Window Switch to keep the life of the tranny. ** If the motor is built to support Nitrous then I wouldn't hesitate to hit with a 250-300hp shot without even thinking twice. <--- ( Personal Opinion ) **

I've heard of people having trouble lifting the heads on the larger shots(250+) Is that an isolated problem, or a problem consistent of lsx-style engines? I saw that one company was having to replace head gaskets quite often on the big hit.

looks like I just need to replace plugs. I have patriot ls6 heads so I hope they are good. I will try out the big shot when I go to SAR since we no longer have a 1/4 mile strip at home. I hope to see more people out this time. Last time I went I only met 1slowz71. I will need another good street tune from nelson to get the 80e shift points just right. Would it be possible to hit 10's on the 300 with good weather. I will be happy with mid 11's.
