Default z71 Silverado as DD?

I am selling my 97 z/28 and want to have something nice to replace it. I am not going to drive a honda civic or something like that. I want something decent enough to retain my badass status and such. (Fast car, luxury car, or badass truck should do it.) I am looking to spend up to about 10grand but the cheaper the better. I am leaning towards a 99+ gm fullsize truck. Either a z71 silverado or sierra, ext cab 4wd.

What i need:
-Car that is low maintenance
-Decent power
-Decent gas milage. At least 15/25
-Fairly cool (can't give up the Z's chick picking capabilities completely)
-Will last me many years
-I prefer it to be able to do well in the winter
-Must be clean and all

Other things im thinkin about. How about a dsm (turbo w/ awd), older luxury car, svt lightning, etc?

well, the 99 up Z71 fits most of those except the fuel mileage. you'd be lucky to get 17 on the freeway.

for 4wd your gonna spend some bucks which will either put you over your limit or youll have to settle for something shitty. get a 2wd throw some sand in the bed and some nice winter tires on it when the time comes and youll be good to go. that will also net you some mpg not havin a 4wd. good luck wit w/e you decide

btw welcome over to PT

not that I've ever heart of. I get 22 on the highway running 93 octane, efans, exhaust and intake(plus a cam) and I weigh a **** load less than a 4wd truck plus I have 3.42's

You'll be lucky to pull 17 with 87 octane.

I get 22 mpg on the open highway but I also have a tune, exhaust, drop in K&N, and running 93 octane.
