Short headers long tube make a diffrence?

Whats up guys i had a question when i purchased my silverado it already came with short tube headers people have told me to switch to long tubes does it make a diffrence or is it just a wast of money?

So i wouldent be wastin money if i switch the short tube headers to long tube?
