I was recommended to check out this site from pirate4x4- the tech advice here is to good not to be involved in. I have a '02 5.3 in a rock buggy with an early model TH350 mated to a Dana 300 transfer case. Not out for speed so much as smooth running and bottom end power. I haven't browsed enough to see if there are any more off roaders on here but if they run these motors they should be... A few pics of what I'm talking about--

what part of NC are you in???

 

I'm in western NC. 50 miles west of Asheville. Are there any shops around that could help? I have a Howell harness and PCM with a cable throttle body. Had to ditch the DBW throttle. Engine seems to run "OK" but i have a trouble code: idle RPM high
It just doesn't seem to have very good throttle response. When i was in to hot rods, a well tuned Holley 600 on a SBC was more responsive? There's alot more going on here than i'm able to trouble shoot(PCMs,coil packs,injectors,computer controlled EVERYTHING!) I know alot of the guys on here are after a few 1/10s on the strip, but i just want good, smooth power and reliability. Thanks for the help...
