So I started to swap out the old 5.7 from my 94 chevy 2500 cause after rebuilding it last year and now after having back surgery 4 months ago and looking at having to haft to have surgery again and of course cant work at the moment and cause 2 months ago the ole 350 broke 2 intake valves and then a month after that one of the new intake valves had the top of it sheered off of it and the other new intake valve the keepers came loose and drop that one into the piston and just knocked the carbon off of it but it bent and broke the head so I found a head from a salvage yard for 25 buck and slaped that on and a week later guess what 2 connecting rods bend and a lob off the cam was sheered off. so being me and being pissed about it all I went off and bought a 5.3 from a 02 tahoe and going to put that in and still use the same 3 speed with granny and od. I have solved a lot of problem of putting this thing in with out asking and I have make the motor mount plates my self and been able to figure out a few other problems. but seeing how I am a complete noob at a ls engine swap into the ole 94 I do have a few questions about this deal.
where in the hell do I find a a/c compressor bracket and the tensioner. I did find a post from 09 where someone was making them but of course my son closed the page and now I just cant find it or can someone point me in the right direction on where I can find one cause I cant seem to find it anywhere.
also has any one put a 3 speed with granny behind a 5.3 and I was wondering what flywheel and clutch setup did you use cause I am using the old flywheel and clutch from my 94 course I am having a new bolt pattern put in the flywheel to bolt up to the crank now I know that a flywheel from a 4.8 or a 6.0 will work but I dont have the money for that plus I would have to buy a new pressure plate for it and the only plave that I can find it is from work and being a dealership they want 650 just for the 2 items so my question is what flywheel and clutch setup was used.
and I was also wondering what cat system has been used or what works best
