Default New from MN

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd stop by and say hi. I'm a 22 year old MIS major who really likes cars. I won't claim to be an expert - I'm literally learning as I go - but it's a fun hobby. I work as a Service Technician for one of the country's top managed IT service providers. It's fun and I enjoy the challenge. My dad owns a large body shop and he's been in the business for 33 years. I see myself eventually going and working for him.

I'm considering ditching my '05 Neon SRT4 (330WHP) which is my current DD for a newish (2003 on up) Silverado regular cab short box 2WD 5.3L. Still looking and figuring out what I want to spend which will determine really where I end up. I love LS motors so why not have one in a DD? I'm sure I won't be able to leave it stock. Perhaps just exhaust and a cam. I say that now, lol.

My current "fun" car is a 1990 Mazda RX-7 which had an LS1/T56 combo in it this summer (400RWHP) but is undergoing some changes this winter. Here's what it will end up with:

(Motor will be cleaned up and looking new before going in)

This weekend I went down to Ohio to pickup a parts car that has a pretty badass 4 link:

I removed the IRS in my car and will be putting the 4 link in sometime this week...

Basically the goal is for ~600RWHP, a 9 second 1/4 slip, and it WILL BE A DAILY DRIVER in the summer.
