i wouldnt really say there is a best type of rim for lowered trucks i would say if you want different rims just start looking around online and your bound to find quite a few sets youll like. then just chose which ever ones fit your budget the best.

im more of a fan of the new motors so i would probably do a 4.8 or 5.3 if you could find one for a good price maybe even a 6.0 but all three of these engines will require allitle more work to put in your truck i believe.

5.3 is a newer model motor. most people on this site that have 5.7 like your trucks will swap them out for a gen3 or 4 motor. There is just alot more variety for the performance parts for these engines. ive never had a 5.7 so im not telling you its a horrible motor or anything just i see so many people swapping them out for the newer motors i would just assume there isnt as much you can do to the 5.7.

if i was you i would keep the truck. im not much of a car fan since i use my truck for hauling things quite often. and plus i like being able to say i made my truck go faster than car that drive around my area. but its up to you. you can always buy a car and make it fast with the money you get if thats what you would like to do.
