Default New here, and to trucks

Saw a couple of trucks that moved fairly well out at HRP a few Sundays ago with the Performancetrucks sticker, so I stopped by to check the site out, and it's MUCH bigger than I imagined. Anyways, my dad recently gave me his old truck, a 1991 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5 speed 305. Currently has right over 400k, and runs just about like new, though the cat is a little clogged. Just looking for some ideas for appearance right now since I have a bike for my speed fix. Brother works at HKE(you LSx guys should know the name) as an engine builder, so he is trying to get me to go LSx for pretty cheap. After I sell my other car and get the bike where I want, who knows, but for now, I just need Ginger May to look pretty.

yeah, I named my truck Ginger May Cargle.

Welcome to the site! We have quite a diverse membership of trucks. Check out the "show and shine" section for some cosmetic mod ideas and post up a pic of your ride!

On page 60 right now. Not many 88-98's I have a pretty good idea of what I'd like the truck to look like, though I'm unsure of the drop I'd like to do. Probably just gonna throw 20's on it as it's a beater, and I want MINIMAL gap. Only problem with that may be I'm gonna be hauling a 400lb. bike in the back to trackdays, so I'm not sure how low I can actually go, or if I'll need to throw some type of airbag towing crap on there.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow though. New digital camera, and no work tomorrow. You're forewarned though, she's not much to look at as of yet.

I rode around in a 98 Xcab, lowered 4/6, towed a trailer with a few quads and rode around quite a bit with one in the back. It's all in how you do it, just don't go the ghetto way and chop springs and pull leafs and you should be fine.

Welcome to PT fellow trucking brother!! There's a few guys running around with OBS trucks that have done some nice work to them. But yeah it's not much of a site for classics. Most of us are LS based and 98 and newer.
I'm subscribing for pics!!! I would totally hit up your brother for that LSX block! Nothing wrong with going faster! Post some pics of the bike too!!

I NEVER do ghetto. Whatever I do, will be done right. Especially with this truck as it's the first vehicle I drove. . . .ten years ago(24 now). I already have a parts list, but things may come and go as time passes.

Spoolin' I was gonna snap a few today, but it was storming this morning, and I was running around all afternoon trying to get some dash speakers that actually fit. Finally found some Infinity Reference 4x6's that had a low enough mounting depth. I'll TRY for tomorrow, but I work from 8-6.
