Default Need torque converter info/rec's

Howdy fellers,

I'm in the market for a new torque converter for my truck, but have no idea what my search parameters need to be set to(bolt pattern, lockup, diameter, spline count, etc. etc) so I'm asking for your help.

It's a 2002 silverado 1500hd. LQ4 6.0. 4L80E. 3.73's, 30" tires, roughly 5600 lbs., cruising rpm at 70 mph is 2000.

I'm thinking I need a ~2000 rpm stall, but without the other info, I'm at a loss. It's a daily driver, with occasional hard acceleration pulls. I'm planning on putting a comp cams 54-424-11 265 duration cam in it, swapping the heads for the 61cc 862's and .040" gaskets for the added compression, and adding long tube headers. Now I need a torque converter to match this setup.

Any info or recommendations would help. Thank you!

@Circle-D

Having had 3 CircleD torque converters now, they would be my choice. The HP 3200 is great budget converter and will get you the additional kick in the pants.

You'll need to tune for it also.

That's not too much stall for such a small cam, and is that suitable for a DD? Thanks for the recommendation, any idea of which particular one would fit my engine?(remember, I have no idea the specifics, like spline, bolt circle, blablabla) Also, I know *a little* about how to get around in HP tuners, is the required tuning something that I could do myself or should I take it to a tuner?

Thanks!!

Very suitable and one the will recommend for a DD.

It'll come on strong with that cam.
