Just got an 05 GMC
#1
hey guys, I just sold my 1998 LS1 T/A H/C/I full bolts ons 150 shot for a stock 05 5.3 liter single cab truck. The truck only had 8200 miles on it and is GM certified with the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. So im feeling good about that. I want to do a few mods. so im going to list them and if some of you guys could point me in the right place to look or brands to get.
1. Im going to get a billit grill.
2. a good looking set of 20's (I know where to look for these.)
3. Headers and exaust. (For a good sound and performance.)
4. I also want a roll pan for my back bumper, I always thought that looked good.
What other minor bolt ons can I do to get a little power out of it? And does any one know what these trucks put down to the wheels stock?

For the grill I got a Stull, don't get a overlay!! get the flush mount type where you cut the old one out it a bit of a pain but well worth it. I got mine locally but I'm sure some of the sponsors to the right can hook you up----->>>
Myself and alot of others are running the Pacesetter Lt's with the Off-road Y-pipe. DO NOT get shorties as power gains will be minimal if any!! Magnaflow sound great with these headers dumped just before the axle. I got a Flowmaster on mine and it sounds ok but a bit loud. Got mine from Texas speed and performance also a sponsor listed to the ------>>>>>>
Go with a steel roll pan for sure! Run from any plastic or fiberglass, you may spend a few dollars more but it's worth every bit for a better fit and finish. Me personally I like the bumper on rcsb trucks, ecsb trucks look better with a roll pan.
As for power expect somewhere in the 220-230 range stock. Never dyno'd mine but a friend of mine put down 264 with headers, cai and a dyno tune with 4.10 rear and eaton posi.

you should have gotten the truck first and swapped motors
all performance mods/knowledge about the LS1 fbodies apply to the trucks, in case you didnt know.
1. most brands are good, get what looks good
2.wheels are all about personal preference
3.see link below
4. sir michaels is the best company for roll pans
