I had a 00' ext cab R/T before my Silvy i have now. Maybe you guys can tell me what was wrong with it. When i got it at a year and a half old (used) it was 100% stock with low miles. I always loved the way they looked and sounded so i got one. Man was it SLOW stock.
Since stock sux I got the 300hp Mopar PCM, K&N FIPK w/ram air, shorty headers, gutted cats, flowmaster 3" catback. With all these mods it was a little faster and sounded mean as hell. Bad part is it fell on its face above 3k rpms, and shifted on its own at 4k under WOT. I had to shift it myself if i wanted to race.
The final blow with my R/T was when i raced a friend with a 95' Integra with 170,000 miles on it. The only mods he had was a cold air intake and ricer muffler. I had all of the above. Long story short, i beat him off the line but once i hit 3k he passed me and kept leaving me. I was so pissed i lost to a pretty much stock ricer I went in the next day and got rid of the R/T.

R/T's are tricky, you have to have the right combo to get 'em to run good. The biggest thing I can see you were missing is an M1 intake manifold, the stock beer barrel just doesn't flow enough, that's why it was falling on it's face after 3K rpm. The Mopar PCM should have been shifting at 52-5400, probably could have fixed that with a little tv cable adjustment. There's a ton of guys running 13's all motor now, they've got the combos pretty much figured out. My truck only ran 15.3 stock, and it's a regular cab. They've got potential just have to throw some money at 'em and get the right combo.

Yea, i didnt find out about the intake till after i got rid of it. LOL
My ext cab Silvy ran 14.7 with 3" pipe in place of the muffler and a K&N drop in. Total of $60. I was sold.
I still like the low end ***** of the R/T for towing, but racing I just didnt know enough at the time i had it.

If I only knew then what I know now. I had one buddy that had an 02' with a 100 shot that ran 13.7's. With a vortech SC at 8psi he ran 13.8's. I just wasnt impressed then, but his was mostly stock other than the blower. One thing I did hate though about my R/T was the so called rear seat. I couldnt fit a car seat back there. Not that i wanted dirty little kids riding with me. Nothing worse than pulling up next to a hot chick in a hot truck and her seeing the car seat while you give them that smile.
