Default From import to muscle!!

Hey guys so I'm slowly coming into the dark side and leaving the import scene I just picked up and 07 chevy silverado extended cab with 113k with the 4.8 and since I like to go fast I wanna swap it out with a 6.0.... Now again I'm new to the muscle scene and don't know much about the ls codes you guys have for the motors. If someone can point me to the right direction and tell me what would be the best 6.0 drop kit on the truck.....

welcome. ive had a 2003 evo8 and a 2005 wrx but i usually play with american muscle. dont give up in the 4.8 though i think you have the better flowing heads on the 07s and with a power adder the 4.8s will run with any ls big cube motor.

what casting heads do you have? there'll be a 3 digit number stamped on the side of them just above the exhaust manifold
the 4.8 can handle a ton of boost! so if your interested in that, keep it. but if you wanna run it all motor you'll need more cubic inches to work with
and welcome to your new addiction

If you have the 07.5+ body style you have the 243 heads (basically LS6 heads without the sodium filled valves found in the Vette, etc.) If you want to go fast you either need to boost the 4.8 to the moon which it will handle all day, or swap to more cubes. Lately, he trend has been to put some psi to them.

If you have a "classic", the heads don't flow quite as well, but they still respond tremendously to boost, and heads can always be swapped.

I say keep the 4.8, boost it, enjoy it, when you need more nearly everything can swap over to an engine with more cubes later on.

I am also going to say keep the 4.8 and throw some pressure into it. Also, welcome to the board.
