Default I'm back... with great news!

I am now the owner of a white 2005 Z71 Tahoe! It's been a while since I've been on here so just to catch you up on things: not long ago my '02 Tahoe Lt was hit in the rear quarter panel in an accident at an intersection when the other driver ran a red light. Hit it hard enough to be totalled. But I kept it! For parts and because my brother and I recently put 243 heads on the motor and swapped on another rear end with a locking diff in it. So needless to say, I've been busy. The '05 Z71 was only $500 and has sunroof, digital dual zone climate control, leather seats with split captains style in the back, Bose premium sound system, steering wheel w/ buttons, etc. But... without the powertrain and front clip. Yes: no motor and transmission. So what I will be doing is transplanting my 02 powertrain into the 05 Z71. I am aware of canbus, electronic tb, and stuff like that to change, but I've never actually done this before. My brother is a mechanic so he has. I'm obviously an electrician. So, I'm open to any advice on this if anyone has been through this before. I know it will have it's share of headaches and countless cuss words along the way, but it is what it is!

Wrecked '02

And this is the '05

Super easy swap. Just put engine in new tahoe and go buy an electronic throttle body. It looks like you have the main wiring harness so you should be good to plug and chug.

Engine harness will be different than your 02. If you can find one for an 05 it would be a good start.

General question for anyone: are the SUV engine harnesses compatible with the truck engine harnesses? Provided they are within the same year range?

I have been wondering this myself but don't know the answer. 🤔

General they are similar but some times there are plugs that are different.

That's the answer I wanted.
