I bought a truck today
#1
Hello everyone. My name is Taylor. I live in the DFW, Texas area. I bought my brother's truck today...it's a 2008 Sierra single cab with the L33/799 motor (or so I was told. Still need to find the stamp on the block).
I'm looking to do a few things to it (drop kit, exhaust, etc.) but it's my dd so I'll just be enjoying the nice ride for the most part. I've been an import guy since day 1 (I've owned 4 DSMs. 2 of which were damn quick) so this is a big change of pace for me. Looking forward to learning more about this truck and V8 motors in general.
Here's a pic of the truck after I got it home today:

Very nice acquisition! I'm more than sure that a few of us can help with the spending.
IMO, here's a good rule of thumb. Build from the back up, make sure your supporting cast is prepared to take on the Hp that you're wanting to add. More than a few of us that are willing to admit they wanted to add, add, add to the block with bolt ons, and never checked to mod/replace the trans, replace/balance the drive shaft, or upgrade the rear gearing....
