Hello, new guy in Az.
Hello from Prescott, Az.
My name is Mykk (Mike) Alot of you might recognize me from other forums. (GMFS, FSC, FTV6... and others) I am a musician, a bass guitar player that has worked in several hard rock bands in San Francisco & L.A., now playing in Arizona and Las Vegas. Myspace.com/MykkMusic
Recently graduated from college with a Master Automotive Technology Certificate here in Az, I've been slowly collecting my A.S.E's as well. For the day job I work at an Auto Parts store called 7the Ave Auto Parts in Prescott Valley, Az.
I also work for a Sales Rep Firm called Tracan LLC (tracanllc.com) which represents music equipment manufacters (Guitars, Amps, Accesories) that handles sales in ever state from the Missippi west. We just flew back home yesterday from Nashville for NAMM '08, it was a very succesful trip and we had a blast!
My life is Music, my hobby is cars.
Now on to my Ride! A stripped down 2004 Silverado W/T Reg cab short bed. 4.3L / 4L60E. Purchased new from a dealer in nor-cal in 2004, I've been bolting onto this truck since new. I'll let the pics do the talking...
The 4.3L v6
*HpTuners
*K&N F.I.P.K.
*N.O.S. Sniper nitrous kit
*March underdrive crank pulley
*MSD 6a - Accel coil - MSD 8.5mm wires - NGK tr55 plugs
*JBA Cat4Ward headers
*Flex-a-Lite electric fans
*CFM-Tech bored throttle body
The exhaust is a single 3" mandrel bent system back from a 2.5" Y-pipe that gets run thru the side of the bed with a StylinConcepts tip. Tone is provided by a Flowmaster Super 40, JBA headers & removed catalytic converters.
To help spin those heavy 22"s, a set of Motive Performance 4:10 ratio ring & pinion gears have been swaped & covered with a polished aluminum TransDapt diff cover. To help slow down those 22"s the disc brakes are cross drilled & slotted.
The exterior mod List
*Reverse tilt hood
*Street Scene SS Bumper Cover
*Steel Cowl Hood
*Street Scene speed grill, cut out not overlay
*color matched grill U & bow tie
*color matched door handles
*Street Scene Cal-Vu side mirrors
*shaved tailgate handle
*fiberglass rear roll pan
*Halo Projector headlight lenses
*Smoked L.E.D. tail lights
*tinted windows 5% rear, 35% sides
*custom thru bed exhaust
*Ground Force 2"/4" lowering coils, hangers & shackles
*shaved radio antenna
*DRL & parking light delete
The Halo Projector lenses with 8000K HIDs.
The interior mod list:
*Alpine IVA-W200 indash DVD player w/ Peripheral PTR-7 module
*Sony Playstation 2 & power inverter
*White guage face overlay
*custom made Diamond Tread aluminum inserts
*Honda s2000 start switch
*custom painted/color matched interior pieces
*LED toggles & switches for nitrous
*Gtech SS performance meter
..So right about now your asking yourself "Why throw all this money into performance parts for a v6?" And you wouldn't be wrong, but there is a very simple answer. Thats what was in the truck when I bought it, and the truck is one hell of a fun ride compared to stock. A v8 swap is in the works, just not a LS/LQ based swap like one would think
Cheers ~Mykk
