Ford F250 from New Mexico

Didn't realize this site even existed, nice place. Have a couple picture posts over on ls1tech of some friend's F-bodies. I realize this is a mostly Chevy forum, but I honestly think any fast truck is sexy no matter what the brand.
This particular truck was my late grandfather's. A 1987 Ford F250 XLT Lariat. It is a regular cab short wheelbase (although longbed) two wheel drive with a 460ci big block and a 4spd manual. Only around 80,000 miles on it and almost no paint left from 23 years of sun damage.

Drag Race Video from Albuquerque Dragway at 5300ft elevation:
A slow 16.777 at 82.6 with a 2.6 60ft is it's best so far with a factory original clutch that is essentially destroyed, in the video you car hear it slipping, especially in 4th where it never grabbed at all, gaining me next to nothing in last 1/8th. Not to mention a 6000ft DA (which is really good for this track!)
Every modification so far has been replacing an old failing part with a new upgrade, trying to make it a fun truck to drag, while keeping it in perfect shape, a tribute to my grandfather who loved his many vehicles.
Over the winter I plan to install a new Centerforce clutch and working on a few issues. Being from 1987, the engine is crippled by horrible flowing heads, a worthless 7.4:1 compression ratio, and a tiny emissions cam retarded 8 degrees from the factory. Stock rated at 230hp and 410ft-lbs. It has a long way to go.

I can appreciate that for sure! My late grandfather has an 88 Silverado sitting at their house still. Long bed and single cab other wise I would do great things with it.
Good luck, should come along pretty nice!

Thanks guys, there are some pretty awesome trucks on this site! Hope to learn some stuff about performance trucks and what you guys do. And of course I am always up for a race if I can manage the gas money
I will have to admit I already have some Chevy parts on my truck: a set of LS1 e-fans from a Camaro! Those LS based motors are beasts! Spent many hours working on them with friends, some pushing nearly 1,000hp on built 400+ cube big turbo engines.
