Default Finally made the plunge, no regrets.

Hello everyone! First off this is a great forum so i'd like to say thanks to those who make it possible. I just picked up a 04 2wd RCSB 4.8 5 speed which wasn't very easy to find. I've always been partial to rcsb but was primarily a mopar guy, yeah yeah lets hear it, i had 2 dakotas in this configuration but 4wd. I am really impressed with the stock 4.8 power its a lot torqueier than i expected. Can't wait to start modding, I have big plans, but like most i'm lacking the whole money thing. I just need to figure out where to start... Any recommendations?

I'd start with some longtube headers. You can find em on eBay for cheap. Then a nnbs intake manifold, otherwise a trailblazer ss intake manifold there pretty much the same. maybe port and polish the heads depending on what you have maybe someone can chime in on this. then of course a tune. you should be good to go. welcome to pt.net.

Custom tune should be your first mod. Welcome.

I'd pick where you want to end up (realistically) and build toward that. If money truely is tight dont waste time or money dicking around with the small stuff that you will end up not using.

For example... if you are building for boost, start modding with that in mind. Turbo will be different than a blower etc... Don't buy headers if you plan to go turbo, and don't buy an intake manifold if you plan to go with a blower.

If you plan to keep it NA, keep that in mind as well. For example, don't cam the 4.8 if you think you may grab a 6.0 one day.

Sorry i haven't had a chance to come on for a few days. I'll post up some pics as soon as i get a chance to clean it up although snow is in the forecast who knows when that'll happen. I have big plans and should have been a little more clear. I'm going to turbo it, fortunately i'm experienced in this department, so i'll be able to do it relatively cheap. Eventually a T56 will find its way in and I need to work on exterior/look so I'm unsure if i should spend money first... None of them really being cheap.... Found out my g80 doesn't work too.
