Default Brand new old f@rt in OR

Greetings from Gladstone, OR. I'm finally getting ready to do something about the lack of power in my bone-stock '99 Silverado. From lurking on this board it looks like I'll get lots of ideas, either on mods, a transplant or buying a replacement pickup with more grunt.

My current truck is a '99 Silverado with every option known to mankind and 157,000 miles. It's a 5.3, automatic, 3.73, 265/75R16 tires on stock aluminum rims. It actually does everything I really "need" it to do, including towing my little boat.

My previous trucks over the years:
- '62 Chevy long-wide, 1-wheel drive, stock 283 2-bbl, 3-speed manual
- '62 Scout pickup, 4WD, stock 152 4 cyl, 3-speed manual (Old Horrible)
- '77 Chevy short-wide, full-time 4WD, 400 4-bbl w/ mild mods, TH350
- '88 Suburban 1500 4WD, stock 350 TBI, 700R4
- '84 Dodge Rampage FWD, stock 2.2 4-cyl, 5-speed
- '76 Suburban 1500 4WD, 400 4-bbl w/ extensive mods, modified 700R4 (a beast)
- '93 Suburban 2500 4WD, stock 454 TBI, 4L80E (torque monster)

Default Thanks for all the welcomes

My current truck is an extended cab, it seemed like the best compromise between a 8' box and a Suburban - room in the bed, and room inside. I also installed a Fold--A-Cover for some real versatility between secure storage and hauling large piles of whatever.

And on the wallet thing - yeah, I know ....
