Yep, tracers! In between each tracer round you see, there's like three or four normal rounds. So that thing is spraying one hell of alot of bullets!!!

spent my fair share of time behind 20MM and up armament and the first question you want ask yourself is...you really think a 7.62 round (granted it's at 3000rpm(that's rounds per minute not revolutions! )) can blow crap up like that. Not doubting that most of that show was tracers...but that crap isn't blowing up like that. Play it again and especially watch the 1:10 time...there is a mistake on the cut and paste and at 1:11 one of their explosions gets missed placed.

Besides...the vid is an advertisement for Dillon Aero. They make a 7.62 system. They of course want to dress it up. LOL Every 3 to 4 months we'd load up the ole phalanx (with old 20MM tracer rounds) and blast old tanks and it would get colorful...but nothing like that 7.62. Last time I checked...civilian contractors can't get their hands on 7.62 inciderary rounds (haven't heard of such a thing...but you never know with uncle sam)

I still say, bad *** video, just don't believe "some" of the explosions and "some" of the tracer stuff.

yeh...that's the only mistake of my "time in"...no vid's for the good ****. Technology just wasn't there in the early 90's. The phalanx is rated at 4500 to 6000 rpm. the same gun on the f-14 is rated at 3500 to 4000 rpm. (stationary makes for faster rounds) That's just crazy fast DU rounds...all it takes it a quick 1 second blast and bye bye iraqi tank. Crazy! USA ROCKS!!!
