Default NEW PB with TB converter - 13.71

Hey Guys,

Ran a new PB with the trailblazer converter a few days ago. It was a 13.71 @99 MPH. This was an improvement of .15 BUT i had not loaded up a new tune for the converter, and weather wasnt nearly as good as my previous runs. I would say the converter alone was worth about +.25... not bad at all for such a mild mod. The truck is honestly more mild mannered with this converter... its great. Worth it for that reason alone.

Here is a video of the run.
Denali quarter mile 13.71@99 - YouTube

That is me running against a 2008 TBSS with an intake a tune. I kept a very similar lead the whole way down the track. At the 1/8 mile it was slightly more while he gained on me slightly by the end.

I wish we had another cold front coming through, but I think the really good weather might be gone until next fall.

Forgot to mention that my "corrected time" improvement was over .3, but I take that with a grain of salt. I was also down a couple pounds since I no longer run the side steps.

What was your 60' and what did it flash to? I'm thinking about this because I don't want to frag the stock transmission and have to have a nice 278mm rebuilt. Thanks.

I only had 3 runs so I didnt get to play with it much, but my 60' was a 2.03, improved about a tenth from what it was prior. Again with better weather and a little more practice I'm sure I'd get this a little lower. My race weight is also around 5500 Lbs, so I'm moving one heavy *** tank. I'll drop a few pounds and get this better dialed in and I think I could take damn near another .1 off it!

not bad. I bet with a 3000 rpm torque converter would shave another .3 off your time.

The sad thing is you're absolutely right. This converter has. 13.5 in it as it sits right now, but a nicer one could take me 13.2 I think. I jut didn't want to put a decent converter in the stock tranny. I know it would make me a use this thing even more and it's just a ticking time bomb. I'm gonna get a 258mm 3200 or so when I finally get my hands on a nice tranny. At this point Im thinkin 80e but anything is possible.

I could only get down to 2.28 or so with my stock converter with a little wheel hop. Semi-functional g-80, pizza cutters etc. With some new tires and an I-6 converter, I was hoping to get closer to 2.0. I have the same rationale about the transmission.
