You can have a choppy idle, just might not get as much out of it. Who knows till you try it. I mean your the guy who put a 2-step on his truck just cuz you like the sound of it, lol. (I have one setting in a box ready for mine, just need to get it on, ) You guys need to get out to other boards more, lots of turbo setups out there with choppy idles. Cams with 108 and 110 lsa. Just cuz you read it here doesn't mean it's gospel,

 

I have 3.73 with 275/70R16 (31.2") and 4l65. I shift out of 2nd alot sooner, even at 6200 rpm. IIRC, about 75-80 mph.

How does your truck accelerate once you shift into 3rd gear?

Please don't take my question the wrong way. I'm truly interested here. I'm looking ahead to my next build. Always trying to learn as much as possible, all the time.

 

Just looked at a log from last time at the track, shifted at 6260rpm and 96MPH.

That's the beautiful thing about a turbo, it hits 3rd and feels like it just keeps on pulling harder and harder. The more you load it, the harder it feels like it pulls. That's one of the reasons I decided to go back turbo only from the compound setup, cuz it felt like the supercharger was hurting the top end pull. It never feels like it hits a wall on the top end, just keeps pulling.

 

Check the vid again, once it went into 3rd around 95 mph, the speedo didn't lose any steam whatsoever.
