MAn that burnout video was pretty sick. You could here the blow off valves getting a good workout! I saw another vid of a semi doing a burnout that was much better but I don't think that truck was a diesel but some hybrid of some sort. That's a cool yet expensive hobby modding those big tow rigs!!

 

Im about 99.9% sure that it doesnt have a BOV...I think there is a very select few diesels that do have them...most of the are aftermarket but its just the turbo spoolin down that you hear...much different beasts than a gasser turbo...

 

Oh gotcha, I didn't know that...something sounds very much like some kinda of purge in the video but as evident I'm not too familiar with Diesels. If in fact the turbo rpm's are being varied so frequently and drastically I can't imagine that's all that good on the bearings!

 

like I said Im pretty sure...I have seen a few but not very common to have BOVs...its really weird w/diesels cuz Id have to say it depends on the turbo...like stock turbos on 5.9 cummins and 7.3 powerstroke you really have to worry about 'barking' the turbo w/ too much boost...so Im sure the size turbo he's running is set up for the amount of fuel hes running...but ur right...I dont think I would wanna be harpin on it all day!

 

Hey Frenchy, I believe what you are hearing in the burn out is a purge. But its the air brakes. Everytime you let off they purge and you can see that everytime the sound hits his tires start rolling. Bad A## though. I wish my MACK could do that. Its only an inline six though with a baby turbo 245hp with an 8 speed. Nothing like these monsters.
