Do you know about how much faster it madde your truck removing the tailgate? I have been debating doing this on my truck and wasn't sure if it was worth enough to go through removing it before I went to the track and then reinstalling it, thanks!

with my setup...in the beginning when it was running high 13 to low 14 the tailgate removal worked....once i made some more power it was a wash. if anything i think it ran a hair better with the tailgate on and up.

I feel that it could only make you slower. I don't have any solid proof but here is my "education" for that guess.
*It is well proven that aerodynamics is best with a gate on and up, only better with a bed cover.
* I was only running 13s/14s also but it didn't gain me anything gate on or off. I tried two different times at the track.
* If I am going to carry 50 extra lbs I sure as hell want it all the way on the tail. If 50 lbs is the goal pull the passenger seat, 4 bolts and 5 minutes at most if you have the sockets.

I truly don't think it makes a measurable difference but for me the "benefits" far out weigh the potential of setbacks.

I have tried the tailgate thing too. Ran consistant 12.95- 12.96 4 consecutive passes. Hoping to get a better time slip i removed the gate ended up with a 12.99 and i lost 1 mph on my trap speed. Not worth it IMO..

Nice pass banker!
