Yea it's supposedly breaking in period. They all break them in untill they are broke, then they talk crap while they are on jackstands. I know you can't really tell but the civic is a high 11 or low 12 sec car, it weighs nothing! I was sure I would get beat when he pulled up and the only thing in the car was a steering wheel and two seats! He actually had gauges to replace the stock cluster, I think I made him mad

Well that civic is running the same psi on a built motor as what we run on stock 100+k mile motors. On 7psi its probably running low 13s. Eventhough its light its not making enoughpower to put it in the 12 to 11s range.

Baton Rouge sounds good. Bring all you got, Id like for the trip to be worth it.

no changes for this truck till i get somthing to drive daily! Once I get another truck, i will put the parts i have be slowly gathering all together and hopefully see some new power. I really would like a 370 built for boost! I am talking 18psi or better! That would be fun, but right now its my daily driver and it runs some low 12's and with the right tire it might break an 11 but I am not that worried about breaking in records just want to have fun! As for 2007chevy5.3l- I don't run for money cause it cost too much to play already but we can do it for the hell of it whenever! I guess ill get picked on by all the rice cars with 5,000,000 psi of boost and no interior..... tell ya what ill just drive it over, get beat by your car, and drive it home with my leather, heat, memory, nav and a lil ole toolbox in the bed If i get beat....it aint the first and won't be the last!!!!

yes sir my truck with me weighed in at 5140 just like i drive it everyday! granted I do swap tires and rims for the track, but if it means so much i could drive on slicks to baton rouge but thats just a waste of money so ill roll on the 22's!

So my truck weighs 5k and makes close to 450 i assume(never dynoed)....... then a civic that weighs 2k that makes 300hp on the dyno(regardless of boost number), put those together and you have the race from last night with the civic.

I will not argue about the civic's power rating as I quit eating spegetti o's long ago, I don't have a clue about b 9er's and d18's and all that! I know a built 6.0 makes good power...... so i guess a built b16 does too when built correctly! Now you speak of your 170,000 mile motors running more boost.....well good they prolly run great, but you can make the same power with 6psi as you can with 12.....

how you ask? Well it isn't safe but up your compression and bump the timming up, get some meth and have a nice day! I don't know what was done to the civic and im not saying it was supermans arch enemy, but it rolled out pretty good and i was proud of my lil ole daily driver!

Lol its all about the friendly competition. Quiet honestly I have had more fun making a land yacht fast than I have with my car, its easy to make 2400lbs fast... I love to pick on the ricers too. But some of the fights ive picked I got my *** royaly reamed, by a normal looking 4cyl but come to find out had extensive motor work with a good turbo setup. Its all about the fun, and I give ya big props to a quick and very clean truck.

Your OP states you ran a ls/vtec.. If thats what he had, its a combination of a non vtec bottom end(b18b) with a vtec(b16a/b18c1) head. The reason these guys do the ls/vtec setup is for the longer stroke(89mm for b18b vs a 87mm for b18c1) and the use of the variable valve timimg head assembly(VTEC). "IF" the setup is done right with the use of a good turbo kit, they can make very good power.

On my 2.0l setup im looking for around 420whp for the street, and 600whp track

Hope that helps you understand a little more about these cars

Thanks for the info! I have never had anyone actually give me info about them! All I usually hear are numbers and letters and it never made sense! Thanks for the kind comments. Hopefully one day we can meet up and goof off a little! Most of the rice racers here are thugs that speak when they should be quiet, and ya know how street racing is, a big secret haha! Well the joke was on the Honda, he is the one that called me out!

Thanks for the kind comments guys! Keep Em comming

Definatly wanna check out your truck. Haha i know what thugs you talk about, those are the ones to run and beat then leave them scratching their heads sayin WTF? Was that a truck!?

Oh also I got a race against a friends bolt on 07 civic si tomorrw. If i get it on film ill post it. Then we can celebrate 2 honda kills
