Honestly, it really all depends on what you want to do. I shoot with everything from an Canon eos-20d, Sony DSC, and a Nikon D50; and they all suit there own purpose. There are so many out there now that the best thing to do is set a budget and go from there. If you have any ideas on what you are going to be mostly shooting, post up.

I have an Olympus. The selling features for me were an all metal body, and a lithium ion battery. I'd definately recommend a Lithium Ion battery. I also like it cuz' it's small and will fit into my pocket. I mostly just use it for internet posting and Ebay and such, but intend on using it more.

BADMOFO brings up a good point. I have had a few cameras that shot very well, but they used off the shelf aa batteries instead of lithium ion batteries, and I was not able to shoot many pics at all. As a comparison my DSC can shoot in RAW at 8mp for an entire weekend, where I was only able to shoot about 10 shots in Raw out of my Minolta that took aa's.

it all depends on ur budget. the higher the megapixel the clearer it is. I have an old kodak easy share 2.0 megapixel and works well for what i need it , which i just family photos and stuff. I know that most newer cameras have from 3.0 megapixels and up

One thing I look for is a camera that will take instant pictures when you press the button. A lot of cameras will not take the picture until about a second after you press the button. Makes it kind of hard to take action pics. You don't need much of a camera if you main purpose is to just post pictures on the Internet. Big pic are a pia to post on sites like these and ebay. Tons of MgPix aren't necessary unless you looking to make high resolution photos.
