Very nice. The lack of converter is why many S10's don't run the number N/A. So many just don't change it. The few that have pick up almost .5 in the quarter from it. The 3300 is a bit much, but not bad either way. A 2800 would be about perfect. If it hooks you should be good for a 1.8 or so 60' N/A.

it actually ran better with the stock converter and a smaller shot.

Smaller shot, I thought the nitrous was gone? If he's slower on his N/A passes with the 3300 stall over the stock 2200 he might need to log it to see what's up. I worked at making S-Series trucks faster for quite a while and I'll tell you that the stock converter is decent, but not where it needs to be for running the number.

He ran the same times with the stock converter + 75 shot, as with the new converter/trans + 100 shot.

No it runs better in the 1/8 with this stall compared to stock. But on the nitrous with this stall, I run 8.8 on a 100 compared to 8.7 on the 75 and stock stall. With this large stall I run 9.1 on the 75. It is ridiculous, thats why I am putting the stocker back in and going to a 125.

I think its way too loose. Should get you some good 60's tho. Is it barking the tires on the 1-2?

I would have guessed it would lose some time or be no quicker at all on the spray. A 4.3L isn't a powerhouse in N/A form and in process of getting the converter to stall higher you're often going to lose quite a bit of efficiency. Peak torque on the 4.3L with and without the nitrous will be around 2800-3200rpm. The stock stall on the spray is going to stall to around 2800 or so putting his launch right in at peak torque. Because of the big difference in torque if his concern is the times on the nitrous he needs a converter with a stall close to stock. When your power difference is that extreme it's hard to get the happy medium. I'm guessing the N/A times were better though. What was the STR on the converter?

Awful, the way the stall turned out to be built was nothing I wanted. I will be having Chase put in a stock stall VERY soon. I just picked up another nitrous kit tonight

And yes, Zippy, the stock stall was great on the spray and on the dyno. I put down over 300ft. lbs. from 2600-4000

Stock stall and 125 shot times will come soon.

125 shot should be exciting. I'll be checking around for results. Nice to see you working with it though trying to imrpove on it.

I became pretty happy with myself and the 4.3 the other day when I installed my ported/polished LS1 throttle body on the marine manifold and the bracket I built to place the throttle cable at the back of the manifold. I was even happier when it got rid of my bogging issue and improved the throttle response so much.
