Just so you know there are lots of lightnings in the 9s and a few in the 8s of the gen 2 variety. It looks like Johnny Lightning might be able to hit low 8s later this year maybe even high 7s, but that is drag only I believe.

I know Johnny Lightning is the pioneer and everything for the Gen 2 L but im more impressed with the guys who run say 10's or 11's but can still drive their truck around everyday.. Dont get me wrong a 7 second L is awesome but id much rather be sneaking up on corvettes and mustangs on a day to day basis..

Thats my point, the people running in the 8s are drag only...but I have not heard of a single lightning that is in the 9s that isn't street driven. Thats the great thing about nitrous and boost is that you can have an extremely fast vehicle and still be streetable. So yeah, you don't have to keep it in the 10s and 11s anymore to keep it streetable. I was also making a point to the previous poster who said that is one of the fastest FORDS he has ever seen...considering that is not even close to the fastest lightning much less ford period out there. It may sound like I'm trying to defend ford but really just spreading information. Honestly I really dislike ford other than their SVT products (which are the only ford products I would ever own).

There is only one Gen 2 in the 8s and that's Johnny's. A few in the high 9s. All the rest of the fast trucks are Gen 1s.

I'm willing to put it out there and say you'll see an 8 second street Lightning this year.
