I feel the same way. After failing to negotiate with all of the other branches, I even tried the Coast Guard, since they might for some reason be more leniant with food since you'd be on the shores and more able to get food that didn't contain milk. NOPE. Even though it's all the military, I figured I might at least have a chance with the Coast Guard, but that didn't happen either. All that because of an allergy, that I could/would avoid, just like I do every single day.

i have one deployment in under the 101st 3rd brigade rakkasans..i got out and went reserves and my buddy down the street from me is in the same unit..another unit a few towns over were getting deployed and needed VOL. to go with them..i told my buddy if he went id go to afgan with him and protect his *** while we were over there..i tried to go on the list to join my buddy but was denied due to the fact i was not MOS qual. ( i wasnt a combat engineer)..i told my platoon sgt it was BS because all we were going to do is route clearance and all they had to do was throw me in the turret and call it a day( thats all i did overseas last deployment. i was a 50cal gunner on a resupply convoy )well i missed my deployment and i had to go to reclass instead..i was HHEEAATTEEDDD haha

Ive almost signed the dotted line a few times. Just couldnt stomach the BS politics.
Out of HS i wanted to go in as a Combat Engineer, then later on i wanted to go in and do the scout sniper thing..
Still couldnt deal with the crap and decided to just not worry about it again..

Its not that they dont want you, its that in combat when you have MRE's they 95% of them have a dairy product in them or something like that. Those kind of allergies are serious. I had a Latex but lied and said I didnt and just told them later on.
