Just curious. Is there any concern if they can hold the weight of the trans and tcase? That's quite a few lbs.

That I cannot tell you.. Me personally I have no concern. I took some damn rough roads in my truck the other day and went airborne at 90mph and bottomed out my frame. I have thinner .083 wall tubing whereas these im building are .120 wall and mine is still there but its 2wd..

Mine arrived today, probably won't be able to install it for a while, but it looks great. Thanks again!

Ok here's the 2007+ 2WD Truck crossmembers. If you have the big curved style crossmember this will work.

Something I've never really seen addressed with the 80e swaps is the tailshaft height. If you compare to the 60e, the trans mount bolts to the tailshaft more forward on the 60e which I believe leads to elevation of the output shaft compared to the 80 if you mount both on an even plane. Are you accounting for this with your crossmember? The other consideration: how much frame stability does the stock crossmember add. More of a question to ponder but likely insignificant for a street truck.

The crossmember really does look top notch and I'm considering one just for the weight savings alone. My factory xmember was redone by GMracer several years ago and is overbuilt/welded like a tank. I'm guessing it's near 35 lbs.

When I build the jigs off a factory crossmember. I make the mount to bolt the front brackets to and then I move the crossmember back and make the bracket that will hold the trans mount. Its not lowered or raised up, its the same level as the factory 60e mount.

Considering the trucks already have 6-8 crossmembers from the front to the back of the truck I don't think it'll hurt the stability of the truck. Mine is made of alot thinner metal than these and is around 3-4 lbs.

If say someone has a stock height 4x4 99-06, and then someone decides to lift the truck, does the x member change at all? Or how does that work?

As long as the motor mounts never change the engine and trans will stay in the same position.
