that race didnt mean anything, it was obvious the lighting had slicks. the srt probably peeled out threw 3 gears too. this video dosnt make me think in anyway a pulley/chip lightning is faster than an srt. unless im missing something

and i wish people would learn how to make a damn video right!

BWHAHAHA!

I agree, put some slicks (if they will fit over those pie plates called rotors!) on the SRT10 and a GOOD driver I know it is more capable than that. Eitherway what an embaressment.

Dodge REALLY needs to consider tossin in that 47RE auto that comes in the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. If what they were shootin for was a drag truck, that doesn't come with an M6 tranny. I love people who think that a manual is faster than a properly setup auto! hahahaa

The Lightning ran a 12.5, it had some serious pully mods, slicks, and other stuff because it was making 477hp.

The Srt-10, the owner had it maybe a week, was his first time at the track in a brand new truck, and missed the shift into 2nd gear, and still ran a 13.5 on that run. The first srt-10 was delivered in the first week of Jan so they haven't been out long.

Just keep in mind this beast has a much higher learning curve to launch it properly then the Lightnings.

Just some facts on the race and the two trucks involved.

I wouldn't call a pulley change a "serious mod." The bottom line is that a bolt on L can be a serious threat to a stock SRT10 for nearly 1/2 the price. And with the L, you don't even have to put up with that ugly *** ricer wing.

This video was posted earlier on the SilveradoSS site. Here is what the poster said about the L's dyno numbers:

Mods for the Lightning is as follows

4#lower pulley
2# upper
PSP Chip
Exhaust
CAI

From what I've seen of his Dyno on this Lightning
is 395 RWHP
513 Ft Lbs WT.
There is quite a difference between 477hp and 395hp. With that L's take off traction and ET of 12.5, I'd guess he's closer to 395hp than 477hp.

Cool. Since the dodge has 500 hp at the crank and a manual transmission, it should be walking that L down in the upper rpms, right?
