I have always loved these trucks though Im a silverado owner. I just thought I would share this with you guys that own these trucks. They are some of tuff trucks. I work for local Police Dept, its a good size dept with lots of crime and very very busy. I took a bad accident the other day involving the truck listed above. I will give you the short story. I young juvenile under 18 was driving a explorer in a fast and wreckless manner. The Juvenile an un-experiensed driver losses control and goes left of center at approx 45 to 50 mph and slams into a lightning going 35 to 40 mph. Huge impact. Both trucks were smashed like and accordion. As I drive up I thought to my self holy crap another fatal accident. I get out and check on everyone and they all had their seatbelts on and have minor injuries. Not 1 person went to the hospital. I mean the lightning had small compartment intrusion but driver was just fine. Wow I was amazed realy amazed. The trucks radiator was split in half and pushed at least 4 to 5 feet into the engine comp. One thing that puzzled me and I told the gentleman to call ford , is his airbags never ever deployed. He had a little head injury nothing major but the F^%&$$ airbags did not deploy. Was wondering are lightnings equiped with air bags at all. Just something to look at I think if they would of work the gentle man would of never even got a scratch on his head. But these trucks are good on my book. The explorer was good too and its airbags did deploy. I also asked it he had any mods on the truck and he said it was bone stock.

They have driver/passenger bags.I don't see why they didn't deploy.
