Default yet another question

how is this cam, i know i know another cam thread, 286/286 236/236 .490 110 magnum cam hydrualic. its in the scoggin dickies catologe i just got should it fit my 2000 5.3l? it is listed under chevy small block looks like a much more aggressive cam than my currect LS6

or this comp cams 284/296 240/246 507 .510 110

so the .05 durations are 236/236 and 240/246? Both are waaaaay too big for a 5.3 and neither has enough lift.

A 5.3 isn't a SBC -- its a gen III motor (so any LSx cam).

Maybe he wants his truck to idle at 4000rpm just to stay running. Those are some big cams. With strangely low lift...

Those cams look normal to me. These LSx cams are the strange ones. The LSx/LQx engines have extremely good flowing heads is why they can get away with the lower duration and make the same or more power. The gen III's also have more lift due to better design of valve springs and the valve angle in the head isn't as steep as the sbc allowing there to be less piston to valve clearance issues. Another reason for the lower lifts on those above cams it that they are probably hydraulic flat tappet and not hyd roller. So you guys are the wierd one's not me!

alright well the to the LSx section how about this cam:

286/286 .551 551 crane cam?

so im correct in believing that any LS1 cam will fit my gen III motor? and what Lxx is the 2000 5.3l?
