Default Will the factory 4l80e hold up?

Im building a 4.030 x 3.900 stroke motor with profiler 225 heads and probably 42lb injectors the cam specs im going to probbaly chose is a 210/216 Cam with a 115+5 LSA its going in an 01 silverado 2500 do you think the stock 4l80 would handle it til i upgrade it?

A fresh stock 4L80e with like a shift kit should handle it. Build it up with if you want.

Do all power pulls in 3rd gear to save yourself from grenading it.

Well, or 2nd gear. Or 1st.

Just not fourth lol

I am curious why the internet says not "D4" but D3 is ok? Because if I am in D4 and don't let it hit 4th, isn't it the same thing? I don't know the internal circuits at all, but in my head it's the same thing.

Don't WOT in D4 or you'll be sorry. I did on my build and blew a one way roller clutch. I was lucky and the part was $15 and a whole lot of wrenching and sweat and cursing haha.

I lost 4th gear and reverse because of it. Could have been much much worse

LOL so i better build a transmission and set them in as a unit i guess it would be safer

Just have it in D3, my $250 craigslist special 80e lasted several years behind a 370 spraying a 350 shot..
