who is running a big cam w a stock 80e converter

not so sure about the lift. i really have no idea if more lift would give more hp on stock heads but i can say more lift still wont wear out springs very fast. even a stock 2002 ls6 has 550 lift. to me 580ish is mild lift. 600+ is starting to get up there.

yea thats one thing also i want a cam that is going to be easy on the valve train. i am not loaded i am doing a full restore on this car on a budget i will prob have less than 10k in the car i have been putting money in this car over the last 5 years just decided to go with a gen III 6 moths ago sold my big block to buy it

Yea I understand that even a .580 lift cam w/stock ratio rockers isn't going to kill valve springs, I was refering more to the fact that you don't need .600+ to make strong streetable torque.
Of course you may be down 10HP on the top end from the other guy. But the money you save by not having to buy exotic valvetrain parts (See lightweight valves) can be sunk elsewere in the car to make up for that power difference IMO. Of course I'm talking about street cars and trucks not all out race deals.

Well there may be a problem
. Recieved the cam tonight (a used one) and there may be 2 problems with it! Gonna take it to my engine machinist to get a professional opinion but right now I would say don't hold your breathe!
