Have a friend looking for some advice on his '97 5.7 Vortec ? Just wondering who here has that phase engine and what you guys have done??

 

I Am About To Pull Heads Off I Have A Few Friends That Build One We Had An X-cab Running 14.9 In The Heat.
I Am Putting Cam ,heads,roller Rockers,on A 96 And I Have Drove This Truck At The Track Ran 14.71 With No Pcm Work,no Cam ,no Head Work.just Blot On And 3.42 Rbsb-

 

Went 13.1@106 with a ext cab shorty. bagged on 20's. Its really heavy. Its stock from the valvecovers down and has a gm performance parts ram jet intake and a ATI P1-SC with a big 3core. This was with 9-9.5psi. Its running with a 2.8" pulley now with no maf and a 2bar map sensor. The stock trans is now vacume modulated cause it has maf. It has billet servos and a shift kit though. The rear is a stock 3.42 gov-lock. Also it has a vigi 3plate 2800 stall. Next season its getting etec 200's, cam, detroit locker, some clutchs,band, and a D1 upgrade.
