Default who builds engines these days?

sponsor or not(pm?). probably go with w2w but kurt is out today and it wouldn't hurt to ask around.

do i even need someone that builds high hp ls1's or is it so easy any local shop could do it?

looking to swap my block out for an lsx. reuse as much as i can. rather deal with a shop that does the work in house.

I personally don't see the need to sub out a shortblock . I am freshening up one in the garage right now. Unless I misunderstand what you are looking for. good luck man.

I'd recommend w2w. they have an Ls2 shortblock ready for 1250hp. Right up your alley.

i have everything but the block and maybe rings, bearings, head gaskets. definately going to talk to kurt. thinking it needs an lsx block so it can get some 6 bolt heads in the future.

so far neither wcch or sdpc do their own engine work in house(other than heads for wcch).

if i were to do it localy does anyone know what work needs to be done to the block? bore and hone i am sure, cam bearings. will it need decked? is it ready to accept a crank?

The machine work to the block is done by a friend of Richards, then Rex actually checks everything and builds the actual motors (long or shortblock form), and Richard provides the heads and technical advice on the build. The only thing that is sub'ed out is the actual honing/boring which is checked by Rex. Not trying to push their stuff but they have helped me alot and are great guys to deal with.
