what truck to start with..need help and info please
I'm thinking of selling my cammed ls1 t/a and picking up a truck...I'm wanting to pick up a 99-02 silverado and drop in a 6.0L with a 4l80e and boost the crap out of it....my question is....Can I start with a 99-02 v6 truck...would the 6.0 and 4l80e bolt up without any modifications? would I need to change out anything besides the computer? are all of the motor mounts, guages and stuff the same...would kit be as simple as dropping in the engine, trans and computer and tune and go? OR would it be easier to start with a 4.8 or 5.0 truck? if I start out with the v6 truck what all would I need to change out vs starting with the v8 truck?

I would start with a 99-02 with a 4.8L v8. Yes you can swap an lq4/lq9 into a v6 truck, but it's a lot more of a hassle. In a 4.8L truck the 6.0 will swap right in. the 4l80e isn't quite as easy although if you are handy with a welder it's apparently not bad at all.
You will need to get a tune for the 6.0.
I would just try and find a 4.8L. You can get them for under $4000 if you take your time and it would be much less to worry about.
If you have more questions, I would highly advise using the search button. This topic has been covered tons of time and no stone has been left unturned.
