Will Patriot and WCCH both be able to spec a cam for the heads and application?

Ported AFR 205's, but they are $$ My reason is the smaller you can keep those intake ports, the more tq you are going to have. For a more reasonable price.. anything by WCCH is a great deal

The machine shop I talked to quoted me $500 to port and polish a set of 243's, and I have seen them in the $200 range over on tech you just have to jump on them real quick.

How come no one has mentioned how good the stock 317s are when worked? From what I have read everything is identical minus valves between the 317s and the 243s and the combustion area. So if you can pick up some cheap 317s because they are usually half price or less of 243s. Cheapest I have seen 243s go for regularly was 400 and 317s usually 150 or so. Or call Richard from WCCH and get some from him and pay the core, remove your 317s and get the core back. If you have the choice between CNC and hand ported get CNC well worth the extra money. I am building an LS2 for my wife's Yukon and I had a set of Dart heads that wouldn't sale on here or Tech so that is what it is getting. They aren't a bad head but there are better out there, that is just my opinion
