Default what to do with 706 heads???

I dont want to go to aftermarket castings on this motor, and really dont want to do an entire head swap. Take about .020 off the bottoms? valve job? porting??

I need to know EVERYTHING this would effect. valve train geometry, CR, ptv clearence etc etc...

I guess I should call him and talk it over...

this is kind of why I have held off buying pushrods too. I know they will change if I take material off the head surface

We've got several options for 5.3l heads. As 1Slow mentioned we have a Stage 1 package that will net approx. 20rwhp and 20ft/lbs across the uesable rpm range. It provides the best "bang for buck" for the 5.3l engines. Definitely don't get pushrods until the heads are in your hands. Milling for c/r is very important and pushrod length should be taken into account when you mill.
Judging by your cam and converter, our Edlebrock 5.3l CNC head would be the ultimate choice. It has exceptional airflow with small runners and smaller than stock chambers. They can get a 5.3l engine to 10.5:1`c/r with only a .030" mill. They hold the best n/a power potential for the small bore 5.3l and 4.8l engines.

Give us a call during all weekdays between 8:00am and 5:00pm and if you get the answering machine leave a return number and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Our number is (818) 705-5454.

Talk to you then.

Richard

I'm looking for something thats going to work well with stock bottom end stuff for now and eventually work with stock 5.7 bore. At the same time though, I'm looking for something to work well with nitrous... I dont need super crazy cylinder pressures on a bottom end with 110K miles on it
